Board / Knife / Cleaver Maintenance -
Our boards are made with the best durable kiln dried timber available. Before the leave us, they are thoroughly coated with at least 3 coats of Food Safe Oil (Mineral Oil or Butcher Block Oil). This can be purchased from a hardware store or online for future protection for your board.
It will help protect against stains, help reduce moisture getting to the timber which will reduce the risk of cracking.
However please note that wood is a natural product and due to changes in conditions and how its looked after, it may have knife marks, move or crack , this adds to the character of a natural product. Planked are not liable for changes in the boards condition.
Please do not put into a dishwasher or submerge in water. Wash with warm soapy water. After washing dry throughly. Do not leave anywhere hot, or in direct sunlight.
Please note - Oak had tannins in it, which may react with some food products, make sure they are not left on there for too long. Unfortunately this is a natural reaction in the wood.
End Grain Boards - Must be kept on there side, this allows for them to dry out evenly and prevents warping.
